CCR

I can't believe this is my last post, this project was pretty stressful but I'm really happy I got to do it. I wish we could've had better filming equipment but I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. This project gave me a lot of insight on the world of film and it definitely taught me a lot about film making. I love that I got to create something of my own and create my own original idea. Thank you for following me on this journey!!

Starting CCR

Okay so yesterday I realized that while I'm waiting for my partner to finish the editing, I should start my CCR. I answered almost all the questions that my teacher gave us and I thought I would have a much harder time answering them, but it wasn't too challenging. I actually really liked answering the questions because it really made me reflect on my project and it allowed me to think about the things we did wrong, and the things we did right. I didn't understand the second part of question #2, so I'm going to ask my teacher to explain it to me and then I'm going to finish that response. I'm also a little confused on question #4 so I'm also gonna ask about that one too.

What I have written down is not all that I'm gonna say, there's a lot more that I have to say once I actually film myself. I decided that I'm going to film myself  answering the questions and when I talk about a certain scene of my project, I'm going to play it and you'll still be able to hear my voice while the clip is playing. If I don't have enough time to do this then I might just do a screencast. I hope my CCR turns out good!

Almost Done Editing!!

Taylor and I met up in class today and continued to edit what’s left of our film. We got to the part where our main character is opening his draw and finding the dress of the little girl that he kidnapped.  We also found stings and other background music that’ll make our film more intense and I’m excited to see how they flow with the film. Now all we have to add in is the last clip of the hand slamming against the glass and sliding down. I think our last clip is going to really tie our whole project together. We also have to add credits and think of the name of our film. I want to add the credits in unique ways and I want to try and animate the title of the film.

Finding Music

On Thursday I went to Taylor's house after school because we needed to edit our project, but while we were editing we decided that we needed to find our music because it's super important for the production. I was still stuck on the idea of using the song Mr. Sandman, but I knew we couldn't use it because of copyright issues. I started to think about other creepy songs from the early 1900's and I remembered the song that plays at the end of the shining. The song is called Midnight, the Stars, and You but as I was listening to it, I realized it doesn't really go with our film and it might confuse the audience about the time period of our film, so I scrapped that idea.

Taylor and I went on KillerTracks, which is a website that has royalty free music, and we began to search for a perfect song for our opening. We spent about an hour and a half playing songs over our film to see if it flowed nicely, but so many of them didn't work. Finally we found a song that worked and emailed our teacher to download and send to us. I don't remember the name of the song but I know it sounds sort of eerie and mysterious. We're also using the natural sounds of our production and if we need to, we're going to create foley sounds. Our production is going to have the music playing in the background and then we're going to have the natural sounds playing a little louder over the music. Below is the song we chose.

Done Filming!!!

We finally finished filming and I’m so happy about it. We spent about 4 hours finishing our filming but I’m so happy with all of the shots we got! Some of the scenes that I had in my head looked exactly how I wanted them to and that was super satisfying. I wish we could’ve filmed on a professional camera but the quality is still really good. I really like how we did the scene where our main character finds the clothes of the little girl in his drawer and I think the angles we got are really cool. I also really enjoyed what we did with our film ending. We made the ending really creepy and I think it looks really good and that it’s going to leave the audience wanting more. There where some shots where my partner, Taylor, had to get in crazy positions to get a good angle but it was definitely worth it. Now all we have to do is edit our project, find the background music, add coloring, and do our ccr. I’m so excited to see how our final project turns out!

Here are some pics I took of the filming:

Finally Filming!!!

So after everything felt like it was falling apart, everything started to fall into place! On Sunday, my partner and I were talking to our actor and the person who was going to help us film, and they both said they weren't able to help us with our project anymore. I got really upset and super stressed because I know we were really behind and we should've started filming already. I calmed down and texted my partner Taylor and we began to work things out. We immediately tried to find a new actor and someone to help us film, later in the day, Taylor texted me and told me she found a perfect actor for our film, which was very reliving. I still had no success in finding someone who could help us film, so we just decided to use Taylor's phone because it has very nice quality. I also wanna thank Mrs. Stoklosa for letting us use her tripod, It helped a lot!!

On Monday we finally began to film and things worked out pretty well! We didn't film too much but we're meeting up again on Wednesday to finish it. So far we only have the scene where our main character wakes up and gets ready for the day but everything is looking pretty good. I'm a little worried that we won't have enough time to film everything on Wednesday but I think it'll all work out. I really wanna make our film title look cool so I hope I have enough time to work on that and we still have to decide if we're useing music in our film. I'm excited to film again on Wednesday and I really hope everything works out!
